What is RSS?RSS (which stands for Really Simple Syndication) is convenient way for you to view new article titles or headlines from a wide variety of sources. It is a format that websites use to syndicate their content to a wide audience, similar to syndicated columns in a newspaper. It is “live feed” displayed as a list of headlines and sources. On your computer screen you can click the article title and you can read the full text. Sign up for our newsletter feed. Google's Feed 101 has a good explanation of feeds. |

Why get a RSS feed? There are several big advantages of RSS. It is a live feed - whenever the source changes (e.g. our newsletter.) it automatically shows up on your personal page. This is great if you want to monitor the latests news. It also allows you to sign up for feeds that relate to your interests. You select what you want to monitor (like programming your TV for only those channels that interest you). And... you avoid having our newsletter email getting tripped up in
your spam software. |

How do I read a RSS feed?To view the news feeds you can go to a website with personal pages
such as My Yahoo!
or My AOL
or you can install a small program (called a newsreader or news aggregator)
on your computer. Some of the more popular readers can be found in Google's Feed 101. |
